Description
Summary:Injection molded Fe–Ni sintered bodies were fabricated using nano Fe–50%Ni powders having an average size of 80 nm. Their microstructures and material properties were investigated in relation to the composition and sintering temperature. The average grain size of a sintered body at 600 °C was 150 nm in diameter, while in a sample sintered at 900 °C, it was large size at about 500 nm in diameter. In a sample using 55(Fe–Ni)/45(binder), sintered at 900 °C, material properties of relative density, hardness and volume shrinkage showed the highest values, and the sample was a dense sintered body having fine grains about 400 nm in diameters, including twins and dislocations.
