Summary: | The interactive development and testing system (the INDAT system) for a RISC-style processor, named the MMP processor, is presented in this paper. The MMP processor executes a set of primitives of the mechanism of multiprocessing (MMP mechanism) with which the host processor operating system is enhanced. The INDAT system has been devised, realized and used to develop and test the MMP processor. It is an autonomous PC computer based system that contains the assembler, the linker, the MMP processor simulator and the software system that emulates the main processor. The INDAT system allows one to develop the primitives of the MMP mechanism and interactively execute them, first with the MMP processor simulator and then with the MMP processor. |
