Description
Summary:The paper discusses the identification of a Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). Two different theoretical models of the system are first introduced, and a state equation constructed through linearisation and other simplifying assumptions. Using the Prediction Error Method identification algorithm, the model parameters are estimated using sampled data of system input and output. Experimental model structures are selected according to ARMAX, Box-Jenkins and General Linear classifications, with minimization of the performance index, and a MIMO identification technique is applied to the state equation. Finally the model systems are subjected to a detailed analytical comparison.
