Summary: | A simple technique has been applied to the development of a glucose sensor by entrapping the glucose oxidase into a polymer matrix deposited on the surface of a platinum electrode by electropolymerization of
N-methylpyrrole in aqueous solutions containing enzyme, altion and tiron. The new sensor is characterized with fast response time (about 30 s) at high enough stability on storage and operation (>45 days and >30 measurements, respectively). In the presence of dioxygen, the electrode current response changes linearly with glucose concentration within the range 0.1–6 mM and does not reach any limit even at 15 mM. The role of altion and tiron in electropolymerization and glucose determination is discussed. |
