Summary: | This paper presents the fabrication of an implantable CMOS IC for developing a multiple subject biotelemetry system and proposes the principal operation of the multiple subjects telemetry. This system can transmit maximum 7-channel biological signals simultaneously from 8 subjects. Implantable circuits of this system are fabricated on a single chip with a size of 4Ă—4 mm. This IC is designed not only to achieve small size and low power dissipation, but also to enable continuous measurement of biological signals from the selected subject. The main features of this system are to select one of the 8 subjects and to enable continuous measurement of the biological signals and transmit them back to the external receiver system. Low power consumption is accomplished by ON-OFF switching of an implanted battery by receiving command signals from the external circuit. |
