Summary: | An apparatus of thermal shock by air cooling in which experiments can be precisely modelled is presented. The different physical parameters have been measured as a function of the temperature. The heat transfer coefficient has also been determined by two methods, on a copper specimen and directly on the alumina thermal shock specimen. A precise knowledge of the transient temperature field is therefore available. |
