The debonding and pull-out properties of coated Kevlar fibres from an epoxy resin matrix
The authors present the debonding and pull-out properties of the coated Kevlar/epoxy resin composites using single strand pull-out experiments. The fundamental properties such as mode II fibre debond toughness (RI ), specific pull-out work (R sub(p)), interfacial bond strength ( tau ) and frictional...

Summary: | The authors present the debonding and pull-out properties of the coated Kevlar/epoxy resin composites using single strand pull-out experiments. The fundamental properties such as mode II fibre debond toughness (RI ), specific pull-out work (R sub(p)), interfacial bond strength ( tau ) and frictional strength ( tau *) are obtained for the two types of coating materials used, i.e. a silicone vacuum fluid SVF-200 and a polyurethane varnish Estapol-7008, as a function fo both pull-out rate and temperature. |
