Summary: | Oscillatory flow in ∪-shaped pipes has been investigated experimentally. The velocity field is mapped by observing the motion of tracer particles either photographically or by laser-Doppler anemometry. The most important result seems to be the observation of regions with strong secondary streaming at the inlet of the curved section, which, to the best of our knowledge, has not been reported before. |
