Summary: | This paper discusses the analysis, construction and initial tests of a permanent magnet linear oscillatory motor suitable for application in an artificial heart pump. Description of the motor design and power conditioning drive are presented. A hardware realization of a microprocessor based controller is also described. Test results indicate the nature of attraction and repulsion forces, and thus lead to the feasibility of the motor to drive the pump of an artificial heart. |
