Mass transfer from a single grain to a fluid in an inert fixed bed

Mass transfer from single grain to fluid moving through assemblage of immobile, identical inert spheres was studied. It is shown that the effective mass transfer rate is strongly dependent on the local bed structure around the irregularly shaped particles. Blending active grains with smaller inert s...

Description
Summary:Mass transfer from single grain to fluid moving through assemblage of immobile, identical inert spheres was studied. It is shown that the effective mass transfer rate is strongly dependent on the local bed structure around the irregularly shaped particles. Blending active grains with smaller inert spheres results in an enhancement of the effective transport rate.
