Description
Summary:This article discusses the principles and techniques used in the integration of psychiatric services in a juvenile court in New York City with a community youth program. Many of the new techniques being employed were derived from a treatment clinic’s three years of experimentation with various types of group therapy. It is hoped that the steps described may be the beginning of the end of that phase in the community’s approach to delinquency in which all concerns appear to have been centered around the undesirable acts committed by the youth who appear in our courts.
