Summary: | The influence of laser sintering parameters on the temperature in the interaction zone between laser and ceramic materials has been experimentally studied. High energy density and small hatching space cause an increase of sintering temperature and a decrease of mechanical strength for the final porcelain components after being post treated in a furnace. A stress relief mechanism has been put forward to explain this relationship between process parameters and final properties. A numerical model for the laser sintering process has been established to simulate the temperature and stress distribution and validate the stress relief mechanism by comparing it with experimental results. |
