Nonspecific activation of translation of encapsidated potexviral RNA with involvement of potato virus X movement protein TGB1

Phytoviruses belonging to the Potexvirus genus have filamentous virions 470580 nm long and 13 nm wide with a 5.8 to 7.0 kb single stranded positive genomic RNA. The genomic RNA contains a cap structure at the 5' end, a poly(A) sequence at the 3' end, and usually five open reading frames (O...

Description
Summary:Phytoviruses belonging to the Potexvirus genus have filamentous virions 470580 nm long and 13 nm wide with a 5.8 to 7.0 kb single stranded positive genomic RNA. The genomic RNA contains a cap structure at the 5' end, a poly(A) sequence at the 3' end, and usually five open reading frames (ORFs) encoding RNA polymerase, triple gene block (TGB) encoded MPs, referred to as TGB1, TGB2, and TGB3, and a 18 to 27 kDa coat protein (CP) [1]. Potato virus X (PVX) is a type member of the potexvi rus group.
