Lack of independence between five DNA polymorphisms in the NF1 gene

The neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene has been assigned to chromosome 17q11.2 and has since been cloned. Seven Belgian NF1 pedigrees suitably structured for segregation analysis were studied using recently reported intragenic polymorphisms with an allegedly useful rate of heterozygosity. Analysis...

Description
Summary:The neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene has been assigned to chromosome 17q11.2 and has since been cloned. Seven Belgian NF1 pedigrees suitably structured for segregation analysis were studied using recently reported intragenic polymorphisms with an allegedly useful rate of heterozygosity. Analysis of this battery of polymorphisms should allow presymptomatic diagnosis in almost all NF1 families.
