Athetoid and Choreiform Hyperkinesias Produced by Caudate Lesions in the Cat

Small, unilateral lesions, which damage exclusively the anteroventral region of the caudate nucleus of the cat, produce a stable and permanent behavioral change resembling human athetoid and choreiform hyperkinesias. These symptoms are not seen after generalized destruction of the caudate nucleus.
