The administrative team viewed EHR usage as integral to the organization's strategic business plan, citing the need to support an infrastructure of care reorganization, refined quality measures and reporting processes, and evidence-based practice for management of chronic disease. From the beginning, QHN mobilized its entire organization to support EHR implementation. Because the project was time sensitive, QHN implemented application modules in phases, through a continuous cycle of design and development. Over time, the EHR transforms the way every staff member cares for patients; it's essential to educate and support employees in the process.
