Summary:A number of organisations have since begun to provide tools for appraising health-related websites. They aim to help individuals sift through the vast amounts of available information so that they can quickly discern what is credible and what is not. The American Medical Association has attempted to standardise the criteria for developing a website that can be trusted and in 2002 the European community developed a core set of Quality Criteria for Health Related Websites.
