Summary: | We are writing to express our concerns about accepting the conclusions of Stevens-Simon et al, published in the December 1993 issue of Pediatrics,1 without further examination of the study description. Chief among these concerns is the analysis of pregnancies ending in preterm deliveries along with full term pergnancies. Evidence was not given to indicate that the pattern and rate of weight gain in these two groups was the same, whereas rate, in fact, has been shown to differ.2 |
