Summary:A pineocytoma was investigated by means of immunocytochemistry with the use of a polyclonal antibody against bovine retinal S-antigen. Several cells of this tumor displayed strong S-antigen-like immunoreaction in analogy to certain pinealocytes in normal human pineal organs. This study indicates that S-antigen immunocytochemistry may be applied to characterize tumors of the pineal region.
