Summary: | Atracurium 0.4 mg kg−1 which was sufficient to produce neuromuscular blockade sufficient for intubation, was administered as divided bolus doses to 40 patients with severe cardiovascular disease. Little haemodynamic change occurred. A transient reduction in arterial pressure was noted in one patient. Atracurium was found to be safe and effective, and administration in small bolus doses separated by 30 may reduce the likelihood of significant circulatory changes. |
