Summary:We conclude that adenosine is helpful to physicians with different levels of training in the diagnosis of tachyarrhythmias. Its use appears to he safe and its side effects minimal. In patients with tachycardias that involve the atrioventricular node as 1 limb of the reentrant circuit, adenosine has the additional benefit of safely terminating the tachycardia.
