Well known for his design of the Amsler grid, he also conducted investigations into anterior chamber puncture and the aqueous humor in uveitis. In this biographical sketch the author recalls his experience working with Prof. Amsler in Zurich in 1955, during which time the author made important discoveries regarding the increased permeability of the blood-aqueous barrier in exfoliation syndrome. |
