i was studied in single fura-2-loaded skin fibroblast cell lines available in the Tissue Bank of the Italian Research Council. Four out of eight familial AD patients (one patient with S182 mutation, one patient with E5-1 mutation and two patients with 717 Val → Ile APP mutation) and two out of five sporadic AD patients showed a positive response to TEA, whereas five out of 11 control lines were unresponsive.
