Summary:Several transformed cells have been demonstrated to secrete growth factors. We studied the effect of conditioned medium from neoplastic rat pleural mesothelial cells on normal and neoplastic mesothelial cell growth. The results showed that the concentrated conditioned medium stimulated neoplastic mesothelial cell growth but inhibited reversibly normal mesothelial cell growth.
