Summary: | The literature on Mossbauer spectroscopy for the period 1985-1987 is reviewed. The principal application of Mossbauer spectroscopy has been in the study of amorphous materials. Other active areas of study include minerals (including soils and meteorites), silicates and glass, catalysts, semiconductors, steels, defects in materials and high-temperature superconductors, e.g. Ba sub 2 EuCu sub 3 O sub 7+x . The instrumental technique that has shown the widest increase is conversion electron Mossbauer spectroscopy. There has also been an increased interest in various kinds of scattering experiments, the use of synchrotron radiation, and irradiation experiments. The most commonly used isotope in Mossbauer spectroscopy continues to be exp 57 Fe. 348 ref.--D.O.N. |
