Summary: | Since the publication of a previous article, "AIDS in the Pre-AIDS Era", the authors have received many comments that include new evidence strengthening the assumption that unrecognized cases of AIDS have occurred sporadically before the start of the current epidemic. This additional clinical and serologic evidence is presented in a table. These data suggest that further evidence for the existence of AIDS in the pre-AIDS era will be found in the future. |
