Summary:One impediment to the widespread application of CARS microscopy[3] is the complexity and expense of the apparatus involved. We report here on a CARS microscopy system based on a commercially available, ultra-broadband supercontinuum source (Fianium SC400-4-Combi). This laser source is simple and robust, and much less expensive than the systems typically used for interferometric CARS experiments.
