Summary:A 13-year-old previously healthy girl developed rhabdomyolysis and acute renal failure during influenza A infection. The patient recovered renal function completely with supportive therapy. This complication has been described in adult patients, but progression to acute renal failure in this context has not been reported previously in children. This diagnosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a pediatric patient presenting with acute renal failure and viral symptomatology.
