Interventions for Perinatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy

Vannucci and Perlman discuss the characteristics of hypoxic-ischemic brain damage in newborn infants. Calcium channel blockers, inhibitors of nitric oxide production and excitatory amino acid antagonists are some pharmacologic agents being investigated for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.
