Summary: | A pilot project to strength primary health care in Sheikhupura District was initiated by the Department of Health. The area is rural, but densely settled with over 2 million people in almost 1000 villages. The project seeks to create a viable mode, providing accessible and sustainable services. Community Development Workshops for Village Health Committees are being held to promote local participation, and several experiences have been gained, from conceptual shifts to implementation issues.
