Visceral leishmaniasis in southern Croatia

Results indicate that visceral leishmaniasis is increasing in Mediterranean countries and in southern Croatia, which suggests that researchers are dealing with a pattern common to the whole geographical area and emphasizes the need for control and increased awareness of this parasitosis.
