Summary::  Although slight/mild sensorineural hearing loss affects about 3% of the school‐aged population, with many more children having such impairments at single frequencies or in only one ear, little is known about its impacts on language, learning, and quality of life. This annotation explores what is known about prevalence and impact of this condition and argues for large‐scale research to better address these issues.
