Summary: | A 45-year-old man with histopathologically confirmed adenocarcinoma of the duodenum underwent Tc-99m methylene diphosphonate bone scintigraphy to evaluate possible bone metastases. Both abdominal ultrasonography and CT showed hepatomegaly and massive metastases in the liver with multiple areas of tumor necrosis. Liver biopsy established the diagnosis of liver metastases from adenocarcinoma. Bone scintigraphy revealed multiple areas of increased uptake in the liver, consistent with multiple hepatic metastases. |
