Summary:Histological examination of the specimen showed that the cyst was lined by a single layer of columnar mucus-secreting epithelium (with occasional glands) overlying submucosa and a muscular wall (Fig. 5). The differential diagnosis of a cystic mass in the right upper quadrant of a previously healthy adolescent patient includes an enteric duplication cyst, mesenteric or mesothelial cyst, cystic lymphangioma, choledochal cyst, exophytic hepatic cyst, pancreatic pseudocyst, dermoid cyst, ovarian cyst, and adrenal or renal cyst.
