Protective effect of protease inhibitors in influenza virus infected animals
Injection of protease inhibitors into mice and chickens infected with lethal doses of influenza virus prevented dissemination of virus in the host organism and had a marked protective effect. Possible mechanisms for the anti-influenza effect of protease inhibitors are discussed.
