occurrence of Echinococcus granulosus in coyotes (Canis latrans) in the Central Valley of California

As part of epidemiological studies on hydatid disease in the Central Valley of California, a survey was made in 7 counties for possible infections with Echinococcus granulosus in the coyote, Canis latrans. Of 173 animals examined, 7 (4%) were found infected, 6 of them from Tehama County.
