Description
Summary:Barnothy and Barnothy 1–4 have suggested that quasi-stellar objects are images of the nuclei of Seyfert galaxies, resulting from a gravitational lens mechanism. Refsdal 5 and Liebes 6 have found expressions for the intensification and angular size of the image when the path of the photons from the object to the observer passes outside the intervening object which acts as the gravitational lens; that is, the photons do not traverse the materal of the deflector.
