Mosaic protonic coupling hypothesis for free energy transduction

Mitchell's chemiosomotic coupling hypothesis is now generally accepted as the best model for membrane linked biological free energy transduction. Here the authors present an elaboration of the chemiosomotic hypothesis which is able to account for many of the published discrepancies.
