Summary: | The rediscovery of Leborgne's brain, upon which Broca's original discussion of aphasia was based, provided the opportunity for evaluation & measurement. Physical examination & computerized tomographic scanning of the brain were performed & results are outlined. Study indicates that no lesions involving Wernicke's area were present. Broca was correct in noting that this patient's language deficits were caused by a lesion of the third frontal convolution of the left hemisphere. 20 Figures, 11 References. B. Annesser Murray |
