Summary:This study, based on a survey of 161 American coots (Fulica americana) from Iowa, 45 of which harbored C. oculeum in the orbital and nasal cavities, presents additional data on miracidial epidermal plates, and new snail hosts (Gyraulus hirsutus, Helisoma trivolvis, Lymnaea stagnalis, and Stagnicola reflexa). Infections were also established in 2 of 4 laboratory-reared American coots.
