THE HISTOCHEMICAL DEMONSTRATION OF ACID PHOSPHATASE BY A POST-INCUBATION COUPLING TECHNIQUE

The procedure for the histochemical demonstration of acid phosphatase by a post-incubation coupling technique using sodium 6-benzoyl-2-naphthyl phosphate is described. The distribution of activity in the tissues of the rat is presented. Enzymatic activity was generally confined to the cytoplasm of e...

Description
Summary:The procedure for the histochemical demonstration of acid phosphatase by a post-incubation coupling technique using sodium 6-benzoyl-2-naphthyl phosphate is described. The distribution of activity in the tissues of the rat is presented. Enzymatic activity was generally confined to the cytoplasm of epithelial cells. Prostate, liver, spleen, ovary and kidney showed the greatest acid phosphatase activity.
