Summary: | SUMMARY Groupwork is beginning to play a significant part in social work in Britain and there are signs that a distinct and prevalent form of practice has begun to emerge with aims and characteristics which reflect the British fieldwork context. This paper is an attempt to give formal definition to this approach, using a framework suggested by Roberts and Northen. Its place in existing groupwork classification schemes is also considered and problems and issues which warrant further discussion and analysis are identified. |
