Summary: | A new, indirect method of determination of systolic blood pressures applicable to small infants has been described. It has been shown to be consistent, reproducible, and to correlate closely with the standard auscultatory method. The appartus used is compact, portable, inexpensive, provides quick results and does not irritate or injure the patient. It lends itself readily to the recording of systolic pressures.
Limited results obtained by the new technique were presented and compared with those obtained by other methods.
Further data for statistical purposes are being compiled. |
