Summary: | A method was developed using an electropaperography apparatus for the separation of hydroxyanthraquinone derivatives, both as glycosides and as aglycones. By using this technique, a mixture of emodin, alizarin, and chrysophanic acid was separated and identified by paper chromatography. Similarly, emodin maltoside and chrysophanic acid maltoside were separated and identified, and the glycosides of senna leaflets were separated and their corresponding aglycones were identified. |
