Description
Summary:386 EMPLOYEES FROM ALL LEVELS OF A PROGRESSIVE STATE HOSPITAL WERE ADMINISTERED 2 FORMS OF A SCALE DESIGNED TO INDUCE DIFFERENT RESPONSE SETS. SIGNIFICANTLY MORE NEGATIVISM & CRITICISM WERE ELICITED WITH THE 'PERSONALIZED' SCALE, THAN WITH THE SCALE WHICH INDUCED A MORE 'THEORETICAL' SET, FOR ALL LEVELS OF THE STAFF. THERE WERE, HOWEVER, DIFFERENCES IN THE WAY SEPARATE STAFF GROUPS RESPONDED TO PROGRAM ISSUES & A SET OF CONSISTENT CONCERNS WAS IDENTIFIED. STAFF WERE GENERALLY UNCERTAIN WHETHER THEY WOULD "CONSUME THEIR OWN PRODUCT." THE BASIS FOR THE DUPLICITY WAS TENTATIVELY IDENTIFIED AS THE FEAR OF NOT BEING RECOGNIZED AS AN INDIVIDUAL IN A GROUP MILIEU. 3 TABLES. AA.
