Description
Summary:FORMATION of a blastema or mass of rapidly proliferating mesenchymal cells in the amputation stump of amphibian larva corresponds to the fibroplasia which results in granulation tissue in other types of wound healing 1 . Although previous observations made in connexion with studies of mammalian wound healing suggest that application of exogenous diffusible nucleotides of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) to fresh wounds accelerates fibroplasia, little is known concerning the effects of alterations in DNA precursors on this process 2 .
