FATAL NEONATAL ILLNESS ASSOCIATED WITH ECHO 9 (COXSACKIE A-23) VIRUS
A case is reported of fatal illness in a newborn infant associated with ECHO 9 (Coxsackie A-23) virus which was isolated from lung, brain, and spinal fluid. There was an unexpected lack of histologic abnormalities on postmortem examination.
