Summary: | Schizophrenic and normal Ss were positively reinforced for using I and We pronouns in a Taffel sentence-construction task. For ½ of each diagnostic group the verbal reinforcer "Good" was delivered by E in direct presence of S; the other ½ of each group heard the reinforcer over a loudspeaker with E not interacting directly with S. Normal groups showed significant verbal conditioning under both reinforcement procedures but no conditioning was obtained for the schizophrenic groups. Taylor MA scale score showed no relation to verbal conditioning performance. (18 ref.) |
