Nucleotide Sequence from the Polypeptide Chain Termination Region of the Coat Protein Cistron in Bacteriophage R17 RNA
The nucleotide sequence of a fragment of R17 RNA, which corresponds to the last six amino-acids of the bacteriophage coat protein, and extends on the 3′ side of the coat protein cistron for twenty-six nucieotides, has now been determined. The sequence contains two termination codons, UAA and UAG.
