Although a closing ventricular septal defect is thought to be the cause of the decreasing pulmonary flow, the studies were not conclusive. In all three patients, palliative systemic venous-to-pulmonary arterial anastomosis (Glenn procedure) relieved the symptoms of hypoxia. |
